About Javier Leon
Javier earned a bachelor’s degree in construction / civil Engineering from Costa Rica’s Institute of Technology. He is also a certified commercial property inspector (CCPIA-002324) and gained an Engineering Operations Executive certificate from the American Hotel & Motel Association’ Educational Institute.
Comprehensive knowledge on implementation and sustainability of key hotel maintenance strategies, procedures and standards that drive organizational performance and profitability. Designs and coordinates strategies for engineering projects from conception to completion. Understanding of building trades including structural designs, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and general building practices. Javier Leon is a Certified Commercial Property Inspector and had a regional engineering leadership role with a recognized hotel company where his scope of work included:
- Implementing and approving mechanical, electrical and plumbing work on renovations for more than 150 hotels across Latin America and the Caribbean
- Return on investment project recommendations for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Developing project management procedures for capital expenditure projects
- Ensuring property standards were compliant with corporate operations procedures
- Maintaining life safety test records for systems and conducting engineering operation reviews for each location
- Conducting site surveys to promote energy conservation and ensuring that water safety and environmental standards were met
